8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Classes
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) classes are an evidence-based program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D. at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. The MBSR program is nationally and internationally known and is broadly researched. MBSR program has benefited tens of thousands of people, including those experiencing chronic stress and prolonged health conditions. MBSR training is a blend of meditation, body awareness, gentle movement yoga, and dialogue. So many of the phrases you used during your instruction have stayed with me in a profound way, so you’ve had a very positive influence on my personal journey.” MG “Mindfulness helped me with body awareness and stress management. An 8 week course provides numerous activities for practice and learning from others. I noticed a reduction in pain symptoms and an overall more positive emotional outlook.” JM “Kim [and co- facilitator, Viviane] worked seamlessly with strength and kindness to provide a container for mindful work in a group setting.
